Fun stamped mani using some brighter colors during this gray, bleak time in winter. I'm ready for some neons soon!

I am happy to show you my new favorite polish. =) I've had this on my wishlist for awhile, so long in fact, that I forgot and fell in love all over again when I came upon it on Llarowe's site. Colors by Llarowe Dirty Diana hits on so many favorites of mine. Polish related, it's a bold magenta/berry color with a strong linear holo. Name-wise, it's one of my favorite MJ songs. And I'm a huge MJ fan. And I'm sorry if you don't know who MJ is.... Your parents have failed you. ;-)
Supplies for this mani |
L-R: OPI Nail Envy, CbL Dirty Diana, Zoya Cosmo, Zoya Paloma, Zoya Willa, MPolish Sweetclover, KBShimmer Clearly On Top |
Without further adieu, here is Colors by Llarowe Dirty Diana. This polish is beautiful and amazing to work with. It has a buttery formula that glides on so easily without flooding the cuticle. I had no trouble pushing it to my cuticle and then polishing the rest of my nail. It was self-leveling and opaque in one coat. No staining and it was easy to cleanup. I am a creature of habit, so here you see two thin-medium coats and a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top quick dry topcoat (which does not dull the holo effect in this polish).
Zoya Cosmo and CbL Dirty Diana |
I'm wearing Zoya Cosmo on my index and pinky fingers over one coat of Zoya Paloma. You'll soon see how a good jelly polish can quickly change a pixie dust into a gorgeous jelly sandwich.
CbL Dirty Diana and Zoya Cosmo |
I topped Zoya Cosmo with one thick coat of Zoya Paloma. I adore Zoya's jellies. Paloma is a stunning fuchsia berry-colored jelly and is surprisingly easy to work with. And it's soooo squishy! It's translucent enough to let the holo sparkle of Cosmo shine through, but gives it a juicy look.

I used one image from my Cici&Sisi 05 plate for the leaves in this mani. For some reason I didn't get a close up of my MoYou London plate, but I used Pro XL 10 for the floral image.

I used Zoya Willa for the stamping in black first, then used MPolish Sweetclover over top. I finished off the look with pearlescent studs that I purchased at Sally's Beauty Supply and topped it all with KBShimmer Clearly On Top. I don't have to tell you again (but I will) just how awesome MPolish stamping polish is. Sweetclover was a charm to work with and provides great coverage when stamping. It leans more gold toned in my photos of this mani, but in person it showed its green tint, which is such an awesome effect!

Say hello to Cindy! (my Cinderella hand) |
By the way, you notice Cindy there? My Cindy hand is good for testing ideas out, lol. Nine times out of ten my two hands differ just a bit in nail art. Not too much, just a smidge.
And some sun shots for you! I didn't get a great shot of the holo glimmer in Zoya Cosmoma (see what I did there?? :-p ) but that holo in CbL Dirty Diana!! Woooo!

Look at that flame!
Speaking of Michael Jackson, what is your favorite MJ song?
My favorite song is The Way You Make Me Feel. :0) This is a fantastic combination! I really like Paloma over Cosmo too!
ReplyDeleteAnother great song! Thank you, I like how that combo turned out as well!
DeleteSo many layers! This is really amazing though. I have to say I loved the glitter of cosmo next to the pink in one of the earlier versions. I wish I was so good at layering - it scares me so I normally stick to just 2 or 3 different parts.
ReplyDeleteHehe, I've been playing around with layering. It's not too bad with that many layers on my nails. Thank you!
DeleteOhmygahhhhd this mani is everything! Love it!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lo!
DeleteStunning mani! I also love CbL! Her holos are the most amazing!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I have another that I'm dying to try (My Broken Down Crop Duster), just haven't had a chance yet. Yes, her holos are stunning!!

ReplyDeleteThank you, Manisha! I appreciate it! =)
DeleteAbsolutely gorgeous! I love the idea of a jelly over a pixie dust!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Pish!
DeleteI cannot get over the jelly transformation! WHAT?!? I love the whole look, super pretty. Did you hear about the trends with Missy Elliott and Paul McCartney? When Katy Perry had Missy perform with her during the super bowl kids were tweeting "I don't know who this Missy is but KP is going to put her on the map" same with Paul McCartney performing on one of Kanye's tracks. It made me really really sad.
ReplyDeleteI just facepalmed soooooooooooo freaking hard..... Omg. That makes my heart hurt. HOW DO THEY NOT KNOW!?!??! And thank you! =)
DeleteBeautiful polishes and love the double stamping!
ReplyDeleteThank you, An!
