Starflower by MPolish - Swatches and Review

Let's get right to it.  This is Starflower by MPolish.  This is by far my most favorite of the stamping polishes I have tried so far.  There are three others (six total) in Megan's spring collection and I will absolutely be picking up every color as I have been blown away by these stamping polishes!

MPolish is a press sample. Other polishes were purchased by me.
I was not compensated for this review.  All opinions are my own.

Stamping with MPolish Starflower

I apologize in advance for the somewhat pic-heavy post, but I just couldn't stop taking pictures of this mani!  Mpolish Starflower has absolutely wowed me!  I'll explain more down below.

L-R: OPI Nail Envy, Zoya Carey, Zoya Neve, MPolish Starflower, KBShimmer Clearly on Top topcoat, MoYou London Explorer plate 22, MoYou London marshmallow stamper

I started with a base of OPI Nail Envy (as usual) and two coats of Zoya Carey and Zoya Neve.  Zoya Neve has been sitting in my untried pile (aside from little bits in nail art) for about a year now.  I HAVE NO IDEA WHY!  She is so pretty and has multi colored micro shimmer which I failed to notice before.  Zoya Carey is a great purple-toned gray and both really could have been perfect in one coat, but I always prefer two coats myself.  I topped them with KBShimmer Clearly On Top quick dry topcoat.

Next I used Glam My Mani nail vinyls (I received some in a press sample) for hearts on my index and pinky fingers.  Glam My Mani nail vinyls are so easy to use and do not pull at your base polish.  Just make sure to top your base with quick dry topcoat and wait about 10-15 mins before laying the nail vinyl(s) on your nail.  Make sure to pull off the vinyl when your polish on top is still wet.  I've also found it helpful with the larger area vinyls to stick it on your skin first to get some of the sticky off so it doesn't pull at your base.

I used Zoya Neve over the vinyls for the hearts.  I adore these two colors together!

Next, time for stamping!  I had absolutely no trouble with MPolish Starflower.  I worked a little quicker than I did with the past two polishes, and I also rolled my stamper a bit when I picked up the image (thanks to advice from Carmen!).  I used a light touch when I scraped my plate too.

For this mani, I used my MoYou London Explorer 22 plate (I truly love the images on this plate) and my MoYou London rectangular marshmallow stamper.    I stamped MPolish Starflower over Zoya Neve, then Zoya Neve over Zoya Carey on my thumb.  I topped it all with KBShimmer Clearly On Top topcoat.

Seriously... look at that polish glow!!

I had a stamping faux pas on my ring finger on my Cindy hand, lol.  I scraped the plate and picked up the stamp but turned it the wrong way so the image got cut off.  Womp womp.  Luckily it's not terribly noticeable.  I also tried adding smaller hearts with my dotting tool using Starflower, but it was just a bit too sheer over Carey to really get the effect I was hoping for.  Hey, that's what Cindy hands are for, no?  ;-)

So since I matted the accent nail on my last mani, I decided to do the same here.  OMG.  It looks like velvet on my nails!  I love the look of the matted stamping here!

Matte version!

I really like how the matte brought out some extra detail in the stamp as well.  See those little dots on my ring finger at the bottom?  Yeah, you do now!  :-p

And again, just to showcase how awesome Starflower really is, here is a macro of the stamping on my middle finger.  *mic drop*

Do you like themed polish collections?  I like when an indie ties a collection together by name.  What are some of your favorites?

    1. I also find it interesting when they base it on a show or the like, but it's not blatant. BP just released four new polishes and they are based on TWD, but I didn't realize until someone else asked about it. I was like, how cool is that?? Now I need them all! Lol
