Valentine's Day Mani featuring MPolish Apple Blossom

I have another winner from MPolish for you!  I tied it into a "holiday" appropriate mani too!  ;-)

More pics and info after the jump!

Most polishes in this post were purchased by me.  MPolish is a press sample.
I was not compensated for this review.  All opinions are my own.

So, relatively quick (for me... lol) post for you today.  I received my KBShimmer order from E! (Love It, Buy It deal) and thought they'd be great to use for a V-Day mani.  I pulled out an untried (other than swatched) and my matte topcoat, which I don't use often enough!

L-R: OPI Nail Envy, KBShimmer Falling For Hue, KBShimmer Ice Queen, MPolish Apple Blossom, Zoya Dovima,
Smitten Polish Udora's Harvest, KBShimmer Clearly On Top, Essie Matte About You topcoat, MoYou London The Pro plate and stamper

I used KBShimmer Falling For Hue on my index and pinky fingers.  OMG her crelly glitters!!!  Love love love.  Falling For Hue is a white crelly with red, pink, and purple metallic glitter in various sizes.  This is three thin coats, but it was sooooo easy to work with.  I did have to dab on some of the glitter, but it definitely wasn't any trouble getting them on the brush.

I used Smitten Polish Udora's Harvest on my thumb and ring fingers, which is a rose gold polish with a subtle linear holo.  Udora's Harvest has a great formula that is really easy to work with.  I topped it with KBShimmer Ice Queen, which is a glitter topper chock full of holo-y goodness.  It has micro glitter, hex glitter, and shard glitter, all holographic.  I was almost sad I covered up Udora's Harvest until I caught the light and that glitter glowed like a sky full of stars.  Beautiful holographic ones, lol.  Even my 2 y.o. son grabbed my hand and said, "Woah, nails!  I like your nails!"  That never happens!

I put two coats of Zoya Dovima from the Matte Velvet collection on my middle finger and top coated to prep for stamping.

I pulled out my MoYou London Pro XL number 10 stamping plate and used the heart floral image.  I used MPolish Apple Blossom to stamp with, which stopped me in my tracks when I laid it on my nail.  This is a stunning metallic pink that shows up beautifully over dark colors.  I'm so happy to have great stamping polishes that are so stark against dark colors.  I top coated it as I normally do.

I thought that was a pretty look, but I really wanted this finger to make a statement.  So I topped it with my Essie Matte topcoat and I fell in love.  This mani is so different from what I normally do, since I'm not a huge fan of pink polishes (nor the hype of Valentine's Day.  We should show appreciation for the loved ones in our lives every day, not just this one day).  But this mani has just the right amount of pink in it for me.

I threw in a natural light shot since I actually did my nails during the day and caught what little bit of sun was left.  Look at those colors in that glitter on my ring finger!

  2. I have a matte top coat that I just *had* to have, but I seldom use it. I am most inclined to matte mint shades. Love this mani!

    1. It is seriously fantabulous. (yes I make up words lol) I have the Zoya Matte and I'm almost afraid to use it based on the feedback I've seen from others. Supposedly it causes white spots, but maybe that's bc it wasn't topcoated first? I don't know, I'll have to try it though!

  19. This is amazing. I never would have thought to use those two glitters, and they look amazing the way you've constructed the mani. I think my favorite nail, though, is the matted roses--just stunning. :)
